What it Means To Be Hyperconnected

There seems to be a little buzz around this concept, and rightfully so…I’m not near as hyperconnected as some of my colleagues and people whom I not only admire but closely follow in the digital space, but I feel I’m heading in the right direction. Having the right mentors has been essential, at least for me.

Being hyperconnected has to be a bit more than just about having a zillion accounts on social media networks and tool sites. It should be about the actual engagement and the created efficiencies that you can achieve by being so. So it’s not about how many accounts you’ve opened or how many toys you play with, but rather the use and reach that you generate by using them.

I measure my hyperconnectedness by the number, class and quality of people I engage with online,  and not only by the ability that I might have to broadcast a particular thought. It’s about the numbers these days it seems,  but then once beyond that the real work begins, which is connecting at a visceral level I believe. There is really no escape at this point, not that you’d want to unless of course you choose to do so or unless you haven’t been genuine.
